Two teenagers on the cusp of adulthood are both skiving from school on the same afternoon - both have been forced to grow up too soon. By meeting, they get the chance to feel young for a moment.  When the two teenagers meet they get a glimpse into each other's lives, forming a connection which provides them a fleeting escape from their realities.  'Skive' is a coming-of-age, social realism film based in the South-West. In 1944 Poland, a Jewish shop keeper named Jakob is summoned to ghetto headquarters after being caught out after curfew. While waiting for the German Kommondant, Jakob overhears a German radio broadcast about Russian troop movements. Returned to the ghetto, the shopkeeper shares his information with a friend and then rumors fly that there is a secret radio within the ghetto.

Eusebio José Fernández López Reboredo Bergamín is a teenager in the 1960s whose dream is to be a movie director, but General Francisco Franco prohibited in 1964 all types of art. A coincidental encounter with another artist, named Antonio Mínguez, will change his life.

The story centers on Kurumi Hosoya, a high school senior and member of the newspaper club, who is one week away from turning 18. When her childhood friend, Naoki Tachibana, gains sudden fame for rescuing an elderly woman on the last day of his 17th year, Kurumi becomes determined to achieve something remarkable before her own birthday. Her efforts, however, often lead to unintended consequences.

A Jewish ghetto in the east of Europe, 1944. By coincidence, Jakob Heym eavesdrops on a German radio broadcast announcing the Soviet Army is making slow by steady progress towards central Europe. In order to keep his companion in misfortune, Mischa, from risking his life for a few potatoes, he tells him what he heard and announces that he is in possession of a radio - in the ghetto a crime punishable by death. It doesn't take long for word of Jakob's secret to spread - suddenly, there is new hope and something to live for - and so Jakob finds himself in the uncomforting position of having to come up with more and more stories.
