Tamizhselvi, a little girl, is the darling of the Kathiresan household. She is fond of her pet rooster Paapa, but her grandfather Kathiresan plans to offer Paapa as a sacrifice to their god in the interest of his family. What happens when the rooster goes missing?

Eleven-year-old boy Jeong-ho lives with his mother, whose principle of life is to eat raw food. To the boy’s seemingly bright prospect of well-being befalls a crisis: When his classmate Hye-mi teases him for his refusal of snacks, he musters up all his courage and try eating a piece of chocolate, and it is unbelievably sweet. Now Jeong-ho becomes suspicious about his lifelong lifestyle, and the suspicion grows as his body grows.

Slaughterhouse owner Werner Haas has a ton of slaughter waste dumped on his front lawn in the middle of the night. Fuming mad, he files charges against unknown persons and foolishly sets something in motion that can’t be stopped.

Isaac, and his wife, Tania, are heading to the countryside to help Isaac's estranged father Abe do some projects around the house as an opportunity to try to patch things up.

The 94 years old Alma is a passionate environmentalist. She doesn’t like the deforestation of the rain forests at all, that the Germans eat ever more meat, and that animals are fattened in concentrated animal feeding operations across the country. The pensioner looks for equal minded people via adverts in the local papers and  gets to know the young kindergarten worker Vicky. Both participate in a group meeting in the restaurant “Los Veganeros”, where they and other environmental activists plan their projects. During one of these meetings Vicky propose to abduct the pig fattening industrialist Heinz Granitzka to force the public to take notice of the horrible conditions the animals are being forced to live in. The group all but jumps at that idea and start to carry it out, with fatal results.

It’s a hard life for young Leo: his family just doesn’t understand why he’s a vegetarian lion. His solitude ends when he meets Avoria, the elephant queen, who has recently given birth to two calves with braided tails. Mysteriously widowed, Avoria is courted by dapper Zanco. By a series of misfortunes she is separated from her young. Leo steps in to take care of them: thus begins his search for legendary Milk Lake, during which he experiences all sorts of incredible adventures. This fable with a happy ending handles the themes of diversity and racism with engaging originality.
