With great bawdiness and backbone, a rugby team made up of farmers strive to redeem themselves from a long run of bitter losses. In the face of the hefty demands of farming and fatherhood, the Saturday game becomes the focus of the men’s passions and the ground on which their worth is proved. ‘The Ground We Won’ is a highly authentic, slice of life film about the challenges and joys of manhood, as seen through the rites and rituals of a rural New Zealand rugby club.

Making snowboard films is a lot like life. It’s always exciting, filled with plenty of surprises, and with enough hard work, you’re granted some really amazing moments. But most of all, they’re a real pain in the ass. I should know, I’ve made fifteen of ‘em, in addition to commercials, music videos, major movies—you name it. But snowboard movies are the worst. Anyone who has ever worked on a half-assed snowboard movie knows just how much work it is, from dealing with riders who won’t get off the couch to crappy weather and snow conditions that plague film crews all year. Then there’s the snowmobiling—man, don’t get me started on snowmobiles. There’s nothing worse than getting stuck on a snowmobile. It suuuucks!

American Brian Shaw is the defending champion, a 6’8’, 425-pound giant who seems poised to take the crown. England’s Eddie Hall is “the hungry wolf, ” knocking on the door. “I’ll do anything, ” he says. “I’ll die, if I have to. ” Finally, there’s Icelander Hafthor Bjornsson, who plays the Mountain on Game of Thrones. He’s the youngest of the group, but with perhaps the greatest potential. “It’s great to see these Monsters, ” says Arnold Schwarzenegger, the host of the competition and a former bodybuilding champion. Born Strong revels in the drama when these remarkable giants clash.

They're called water carriers, domestics, 'gregarios', 'Sancho Panzas' of professional cycling. Always at the back of the group, with no right for a personal victory. These wonderful losers are the true warriors of professional cycling.
