Broadcast live on the Hallmark Hall of Fame series on NBC, a pair of divorced actors are brought together to participate in a musical version of The Taming of the Shrew. The enterprising Anton Klapproth runs a flying duck farm in the Eifel, but now he finally wants to experience a real adventure in the big city of Cologne. A visit to a sanatorium for the mentally ill seems particularly sensational to him, as there is certainly a lot going on there with the "Jecken" and would provide plenty of story material for his regulars' table. In return for a loan, Anton's nephew allows his uncle to stay at the Pension Schöller. However, the guests there are by no means mentally ill, just rather eccentric. However, the unsuspecting Anton has a great time, thinking he is in a psychiatric institution.

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the animated classic, this animated and live-action blended special showcases the fan-favorite movie, along with new musical performances, sets and costumes inspired by the classic story.

Between the nostalgia of resurfacing roots and the desire to venture into song to experience a rebirth, Nicolas Maury reveals himself unguarded before Didier Varrod, with a deeply moving sincerity. Nicolas Maury released his first album, La porcelaine de Limoges, in January 2023—a new experience for this unique, demanding, and multifaceted actor. It is an opportunity to paint an intimate portrait of him through an extended interview on a train between Paris and Limoges. In this specific setting, which was also that of his first (silent) film role with Patrice Chéreau in Those Who Love Me Can Take the Train, Nicolas discovers archives and hears from close acquaintances who speak about him. A documentary film, like a kind of initiation rite, it moves back and forth between memories of France and childhood, and his condition as a man and artist today, taking on a new identity through music.
