Boneless 180 is a coming-of-age short documentary that centers on Dayna Doles, one of the few Black girls in a wealthy Detroit suburb. Feeling ostracized by her classmates, Dayna turns to skateboarding and meets pro-skater Christiana Smith, who helps her unlock her true potential. Dragonslayer documents the transgressions of a lost skate punk falling in love in the stagnant suburbs of Fullerton, California in the aftermath of America's economic collapse. Taking the viewer through a golden SoCal haze of broken homes, abandoned swimming pools and stray glimpses of unusual beauty, Dragonslayer captures the life and times of Josh 'Skreech' Sandoval, a local skate legend and new father, as his endless summer finally collides with the future. Set to the alternately roaring and dreamy soundtrack of bands from the indie labels Mexican Summer and Kemado Records including Best Coast, Bipolar Bear, Children, Dungen, Eddy Current and the Suppression Ring, Golden Triangle, Jacuzzi Boys, Little Girls, Real Estate, The Soft Pack, Saviours, as well as DEATH and Thee Oh Sees. Dragonslayer is a punk-rock manifesto to youth, love and learning to survive after the decline of western civilization.

The film portrays a generation that revolutionized street culture in Brazil through Skate. In the early 1990s the skate scene was bankrupt after a government economic plan that broke the industry. Motivated by the love of skateboarding and a "do it yourself" attitude, some friends, teenagers at the time, got together and released a home video that would change their lives forever. The tape was called “Dirty Money”. The video was an instant success, traveled the country, and inspired thousands who shared the same dream, becoming the cornerstone for the reconstruction of skateboarding as a sport and lifestyle in Brazil.

Bottom line: Thinking ain't doing, so when you put on the ol' sneakers and get ready to blast off, just remember that skating is not rocket science...it's harder. This ain't something they teach you in school; we learn on the streets.
